Boxset "A" was released in 2001 and uploaded into the online database using its UPC.  Its four child profiles were not uploaded at that time.  Subsequently, boxset "B" was released in 2006 and uploaded to the online database, and boxset "A" was again uploaded, but this time as a child profile of boxset "B" and using the Disc ID of disc 1 from boxset "A".

Now, I would like to upload the child profiles of the original release of boxset "A", but the Disc ID of disc 1 is already in use by the re-release version of boxset "A" that's a child profile of boxset "B".

How is such a situation normally handled?  Are we now forever denied from adding all four child profiles of the earlier released boxset to the online db?

It seems to me that this profile should be removed as a child of boxset "B", modified as necessary, and then uploaded as a child profile of boxset "A" along with the other three new child profiles.  These four child profiles should then be added to boxset "B", since they are apparently also in this re-release.  Thoughts?

Since Box Set "A", and it's contents, were released first, per my understanding of the rules, the individual profiles should match that release.
No dictator, no invader can hold an imprisoned population by force of arms forever.
There is no greater power in the universe than the need for freedom.
Against this power, governments and tyrants and armies cannot stand.
The Centauri learned this lesson once.
We will teach it to them again.
Though it take a thousand years, we will be free.

The boxsets in question are Planet of the Apes: The Complete TV Series (2001) and Planet of the Apes: The Ultimate DVD Collection (2006).

So if I understand correctly, I just need to modify the existing disc profile (Disc ID: AFD5-22BA-044A-AC65) and upload the additional three disc profiles of the original boxset.  Once they're approved, update both boxsets with the new child profiles.  Does this sound like a workable plan?

The reason why it is like it is currently back when this was originally profiled we didn't do child profiles for TV series.  Yet the Ultimate collection was allowed to be profiled by disc level as per box set rules that is why disc 1 of the TV series is attached to the Ultimate Collection with all episodes in that one profile.

I would only suggest since you will be changing the Ultimate Collection to include all four discs from the TV series.  You make note of it (in your contribution notes) as owners of this set will need to download the other three disc profiles or lock their existing disc 1 profile to prevent episode data being removed from a future update.
Are you local?

Yes, I can see that this will be necessary.  Thanks.

The search on this site sucks. In fact, it's just plain broken. At any rate...

I recently bought the Die Hard Collection (blu-ray) and when I added it to my database, it added its child profiles too. The trouble is, there was no child for the fourth movie. Wtf? Why wouldn't it? That's just strange. In any case, how do I create a child and assign it to that set?

If it has its own UPC, you don't need to create a child, just download from the DB. If it doesn't, do add DVD, select disc in dirve, uncheck the box to download from Invles if it tries to get you to download a version entered by UPC and add it. You can copy most of the data off the regular release.

We all know that, you might try searching the Invelos site through Google, it's better.

Oh, I think I got it. I downloaded the profile for the standalone version of DH4. Then edited the profile for the collection and added DH4 to the box set contents. Thanks, Ace!

And now you can contribute the box so its contents will be correct for people who download in the future.
