I'm just gonna post a link to my Scarface contribution. Yeah my scans may not great, but they are semi-reflective and hard to get but they are the happy funtimeing slipcovers! Read the happy funtimeing rules! (well, half have)

025192315725
http://www.invelos.com/Database.aspx?task=evaluate&id=1121080

with votes like:
"Image scans are of slip cover and are poor quality"
and "not the correct cover"

This is the last time I even try to do a cover for anything semi-popular. I'm serious, the more popular the move, the finer-tooth comb that comes out looking for any reason to vote no, like the existing data is sacred or something! Dosen't matter that it is wrong, "it's like that and we like it like that!" It happened with Indiana Jones, it happened with From Dusk Till Dawn when I was trying to submit first release covers, I had to wait 3 years to get a better scanner and hammer my notes before getting any yes votes. Not gonna bother going back to Indiana Jones.

Sorry for the explosive tiraid, but those votes saying they were wrong covers just filled my rage tank. I used to get screamed at for messing up and not reading the rules, so I read them now and I scream at the next generation. READ THE RULES BEFORE VOTING.

IMHO the contribution should be accepted if it's an original release slip.

Quote:
If a DVD is packaged in a keep case, within a slipcase of some kind, scan the Cover Images from the outer slipcase. If, however, the Slipcase is reflective, and the inner cover art is identical, use the Keep Case art to scan, as it will give a better quality image.

As the two are different then the slip should take priority. Besides, I don't think it's a bad scan, reflective covers are a pain at the best of times.

I'd definitely leave the contribution up & let the Screeners decide.

The only thing I might have done differently , daddy., is that since the front is so difficult. I MIGHT (that is not a definite) have allowed for hybrid of the existing front with the proper back. But the No votes are ALL incorrect.

bigdaddy my grandson has this UPC in his collection, I just downloaded the the profile and compared your scans with his slipcover (Yes he has a first release because I gave it to him and bought it the day after it was released. ) your scan is the original slip cover, as to the quality of the scan I don't think I could have done better myself. Reflective covers are a cast iron b***h on good days. I'd let them stand as they are the right ones per the rules.

This cover is very tough to scan and I tried it today myself and no luck. My scans aren't even close to yours. I read the reasons for the no votes and I am not surprised people make up their own rules. I hope you send everyone a message telling them that they are voting against the rules.
I feel for you because you are working hard to get all the right information into the database.

The rules quit mattering on November 11, 2009.  You must have missed the announcement.

Thanks for the kind words. I'm still deciding if I want to expend teh energy to PM each silly/wrong vote, I was hoping to clear em all here but many voters probably don't check teh forums so I'll end up having to. It can wait till tomorrow.

Hopefully the scanners will know that your contribution is good, and that the No voters are incorrect.
