| Posted: | | | | After having my RUSH Replay x3 DVD for some years I want to make it with parent and child profiles, since it's a box-case with three different DVD's. As for now the only entry in the base are Netherland locality (Dutch) However the sticker on the front is all in English, and so are the inlay cards. There seems to be two ratings on the creditblock (see picture) Is it right that it is Netherlands or is it English(UK) locality?? | | | "What's God?" | Posted: | | | | From the looks of what you posted, I would say that the DVD is legal to be sold in multiple localities, and so therefore could be entered under either locality (if the white ratings block is for Netherlands). | | | If more of us valued food and cheer and song above hoarded gold, it would be a merrier world. -- Thorin Oakenshield |

The write ratings block is for Germany, and to the left there's a UK "E" rating. These two countries have mandatory ratings, even for music dvds. Music dvds don't need a rating in the Netherlands, only movies. Also, release dates might differ for each country (or locality), so that's another reason why music dvds with the same UPC shouldn't be limited to one locality. @Bentyman: Just enter a new profile for locality Norway, if you wish. You can even copy it from the Dutch profile. |

I have bought music-DVDs like this in Norway, w/o explicit Norwegian marking, at all - these are "Norwegian" loc, as they are sold (legally) in the Norwegian marked . I have bought music-DVDs like this in Germany, - these are "German" loc . etc. But I have to admit I was a bit confused with a couple of DVDs bought on a ship going between N and Germany The ship is N, the price is NOK, and I decided this was best choice for "location" ( NB! Not only for Music DVDs! ) | | | Karsten |

That would be my idea exactly. cya, Mithi PS And yes, there are exceptions to that rule if the shop in question expressly sells "imported" titles, but you would know if it does. | | | Mithi's little XSLT tinkering - the power of XML --- DVD-Profiler Mini-Wiki |

| Posted: | | | | Technically, a lot of Music DVDs are "EU locality", since UPC, packaging and disc are identical in every country. But I would enter it into whatever country you're located, just to keep it simple. | | | |

| Posted: | | | | I don't know how the law is in Norway: Is a kind of rating needed if a DVD is sold in Norway?
If yes, the DVD seems to be an import and should be entered under one of the localities it is sold. (Germany or UK) |

| Posted: | | | | If the cover info/overview is in English and it has a UK rating I tend to enter them under the UK locality. But I don't really care, my music DVDs are a mix of different localities. | | | First registered: February 15, 2002 |

| Posted: | | | | I bought the box from cdon.no, but it's probably the same box sold in UK, Netherlands, Germany and all other EU/Scandinavian countries. We have no rating on music dvd's sold in Norway, most of my musicvideos like this are with UK and German rating, and all of them are bought in Norwegian shops or webshops. | | | "What's God?" SRPs / Overviews etc. will match. There's no overview on the back cover. | | | "What's God?" "You know when you want something really bad and you wish for it?, God's the guy that ignores you" -The Island, Steve Buscemi |

If yes, the DVD seems to be an import and should be entered under one of the localities it is sold. (Germany or UK) Music DVD are excepted from classification in most countries. That's why there's an identical version in all of Western Europe, and also why there's both an UK and German rating on the back (since those seem to be the only 2 countries this applies to). Norway has abandoned ratings on videos. Only movies meant to be shown in public (theaters) will have to be classified by the Norwegian Classification Board. Everything distributed on video, can be given a rating by the distributors themselves. Which is also a reason as to why a movie (Dead Snow) that had an "18" rating in theaters, was given a "15" rating on DVD by Paramount, simply to sell more copies to minors (since the rating given by distributors has to be enforced). I also think it's illegal to censor movies (after a ruling by the Supreme Court a few years ago). An exception to content which violates criminal law, but that only applies to child pornography, and in rare case to "brutal, degrading sexual acts" (in most cases, hard S&M and similar content in hardcore pornography). | | | |
