| Posted: | | | | In season 3 of 24 wich I'm watching now he's credited as DB Woodside in the credits. In profiler on the same season he's listed as D B Woodside. In Romeo Must Die credited in profiler D.B. Woodside (not checked actual credits yet) and in 24 season five and six credited in profiler as D. B. Woodside[DB Woodside] (not checked actual credits yet.)
So what would his common name be? Is this discussed before? The spaces between D and B indicates first and middle name, and so is the D. B. D.B indicates first name only.
From Credit Lookup: DB Woodside: 91 titles (169 profiles) D B Woodside: 38 titles (55 profiles) D.B. Woodside: 23 titles (36 profiles) D. B. Woodside: 38 titles (67 profiles)
From this I assume DB Woodside would be the common name? Any suggestions? | | | "What's God?" "You know when you want something really bad and you wish for it?, God's the guy that ignores you" -The Island, Steve Buscemi |

| Posted: | | | | I don't think so, because how could it tell the difference between "DB" and "De"? Although should we be separating them anyway? Because even though they're written as "DB", they're still initials at the end of the day. But I think that's a different debate. |

DB/ /Woodside remains as entered. D.B. / /Woodside becomes D./B./Woodside [D.B. Woodside] D B/ /Woodside becomes D./B./Woodside [D B Woodside] | | | No dictator, no invader can hold an imprisoned population by force of arms forever. If so then it looks like the common name is D./B./Woodside regardless of the on screen credits. Just in case, I only have him in Buffy series 7 as DB Woodside. Though I should point out there is a small gap so "D B Woodside" is a possibility, I just think they're too close for that. | | | Last edited: by northbloke |

| Posted: | | | | IMHO it should be as Greyhulk has stated since his name is
David Bryan Woodside.
It is just down to the way Hollywood's lazy credit writers have portrayed his name. |

| Posted: | | | | I tend to agree with you: D.B. vs. DB is a stylistic choice, whereas I'm happy for it to be entered into "credited as" it doesn't change the fact that his initials are D. and B. | | | Last edited: by northbloke |

| Posted: | | | | Question: if a name appears on screen with no gaps (or possibly extremely small one's) between initials and last name do you recreate this with the credited as field

R. E. Dearing [R.E.Dearing] Personally I wouldn't but at the same time I don't think I could vote against it. Hopefully it won't happen too many times! |

R. E. Dearing [R.E.Dearing] I would say going by Ken's filter it should be done... after all... a credit as D.B. Woodside is automatically changed to.. D./B./Woodside (D.B. Woodside) So his filter itself shows the difference in spacing. But as I said... that is just going by the way the filter itself works. | | | Pete |
