The answer might turn out to be a bit longer than expected:
First of all: Read the
contribution rules.
You don't have to understand everything in the first go, but it's a good start to know what's written in there.
The next steps:
Open DVDProfiler
Put the BluRay into the Blu drive of your PC
DVDProfiler is now supposed to check if the Blu is already in your collection, if it isn't it will offer to "add to collection" now.
Accept this offer, but first uncheck the "Download from Invelos"-option in the lower left corner.
After clicking "OK" you have a brand new empty profile in your collection.
Doubleclick on it to open the profile editor
Enter the data according to the info given on the BluRay (credits). Do not copy cast/crew data from other databases.
If any questions arise, or if you feel unsure how to handle a certain problem feel free to come up again and ask.
When finished check if the basic BluRay data is correct (locality and UPC/EAN), because those two cannot be changed anymore once the profile is uploaded. For checking go to DVDProfiler menu "DVD -> Change EAN/UPC", here you can correct the values if necessary.
When completed, you might want to contribute your new profile to the maindatabase. Usually DVDProfiler will ask you to do so when you close the profile editor. If not go to DVDProfiler menu "Online -> Contribute DVD profile ...", in the contribution notes fill in the sources of the information of your profile.
Contribution notes may look like this:
Quote:
New BluRay
All data taken from credits.
Except:
- Overview and Media-Companies, which were taken from backcover.
- Release Date and SRP, which were set to the values taken from [enter source here]
This may sound a bit complicated and will take some time (about 1 hour), but be assured that any contribution is appreciated.
Annotation: It may happen, that your contribution gets declined for some reason. Usually there is a hint on the reason for this given. So check the status of your contributions
