| Posted: | | | | I'm wondering are Jr. and Sr. and the middle initial the only things affected by filters for contribution?
I have a credit for Bill Dazell III and I'm wondering if I need to format it differently for contribution.
Also, what about Mark Boone Junior? Should I be submitting that as Mark Boone, Junior [Mark Boone Junior] or only when it's abbreviated? |

| Posted: | | | | The filter is Jr/Sr based. There is no way it could be suffix based as Ken would have to enter every possible suffix into the filter. Bill Dazell III and Mark Boone Junior will upload exactly as entered. | | | No dictator, no invader can hold an imprisoned population by force of arms forever. I think there's a few for the studios and media companies section, but in my experience, it's only the ones you mentioned for cast and crew that get run through a filter. Quoting northbloke: Quote: I have a credit for Bill Dazell III and I'm wondering if I need to format it differently for contribution. In what way would your format it? Like Bill Dazell, III if he's credited that way instead of Bill Dazell III? Then yes, in that case I believe you would need to while applying the use of the credited as feature to reflect Bill Dazell III [Bill Dazell, III]. The system won't automatically filter this as far as I know. (Just tried it with submitting a comma and without a comma, the system doesn't filter it either way, so in cases like this you'd have to rely on CLT results and common names I suppose). Quoting northbloke: Quote: Also, what about Mark Boone Junior? Should I be submitting that as Mark Boone, Junior [Mark Boone Junior] or only when it's abbreviated? That's a good question actually. One that I don't think I've ever seen come up. In my experience (in life and stuff... ) I've rarely seen a comma entered when Jr. or Sr. is fully spelled out (it has happened though, to Mark Boone Junior actually, in his credit for Vampires I do believe). My own personal thoughts would be when the name is fully spelled out such as Mark Boone Junior, that no comma should be entered. And if one is used, the credited as feature should be applied (since the filter isn't going to pick up on it). That's only my thoughts though. Others may (and probably will at some point ) disagree. | | | The night is calling. And it whispers to me soflty come and play. |
