| Posted: | | | | Title: The Beach Girls Year: 1982 Director: Pat Townsend Rating: R Length: 91 Min. Video: Anamorphic Widescreen 1.78:1 Audio: English: Dolby Digital: Mono Subtitles: N/A Stars:Debra Blee Val Kline Jeana Tomasina James Daughton Adam Roarke Dan Barrows Plot:A coming-of-age story about a bookish young woman who changes during her summer vacation from a bespectacled bookworm to a femme fatale. Extras:Scene Access My Thoughts: This is one of the movies that I got out of the Too Cool for School boxset. This is one of many from that set that I never seen. I went into this one expecting nothing more then a T&A movie. And that is basically what it is. The acting leaves a lot to be desired. The storyline is nothing but a few beach parties one after the other. Then there is a silly contrived side story to make part of the main story work. Sure it has entertainment value... it has tons of beautiful women in bikinis and less throughout the entire movie. But that is about all you get here. My Rating: 2/5 | | | Pete |

| Posted: | | | | Comedy BreakDVD Title: The Little Rascals: Vol. 1 & Vol. 2: Collector's Series Episode Title: Hearts are Thumps Director: Gordon Douglas Year: 1937 Length: 11min. Cast:George McFarland as Spanky Carl Switzer as Alfalfa Billie Thomas as Buckwheat Darla Hood as Darla Eugene Lee as Porky Plot:It is Valentine's Day, and Spanky, Alfalfa, Buckwheat, and Porky are not impressed. Deciding that romance is the bunk, the boys form the He-Man Woman Hater's Club. Alfalfa is willing to go along with this until he falls head over heels in love with classmate Darla. My Thoughts: This one is pretty cute. Though I could have gone without Alfalfa's singing. Even if I did like music... I wouldn't want to listen to him sing! But when Spanky and Buckwheat sabotaged his lunch with soap... which he is forced to eat...and then Alfalfa getting a drink of water before singing... making the bubbles is a cute and entertaining idea. I will have to note this short to watch with my next Valentine's Day marathon. My Rating: 3.5/5 | | | Pete |

| Posted: | | | | Title: Land of the Lost Year: 2009 Director: Brad Silberling Rating: PG-13 Length: 102 Min. Video: Anamorphic Widescreen 1.85:1 Audio: English: Dolby Digital: 5.1, Spanish: Dolby Digital: 5.1, French: Dolby Digital: 5.1 Subtitles: English, French, Spanish Stars:Will Ferrell Anna Friel Danny McBride Jorma Taccone John Boylan Matt Lauer Plot:Comedic genius Will Ferrell stars as has-been scientist Dr. Rick Marshall, who gets more than he bargained for when his expedition takes a wrong turn into the Land of the Lost. Now, Marshall, his crack-smart research assistant Holly (Anna Friel) and a redneck survivalist named Will (Danny McBride), have no weapons, few skills and questionable smarts to survive in a world full of marauding dinosaurs, fantastic creatures and laugh-out-loud comedy! Extras:Scene Access Audio Commentary Bonus Trailers Deleted Scenes Featurettes My Thoughts: This is the second time I watched this movie since I bought it. I grew up with the TV Series it is based on so that definitely added some value for me. I was somewhat surprised to see they changed it from a family on a camping trip to a scientist, his assistant and a guide. I think I would have preferred if it was more like the series in this regard... but I was still able to enjoy the movie. The fact that Will Farrell is the star is something else that had me nervous as to me he has always been a very hit and miss actor... I don't like half the stuff I see him in. he movie really is a lot of fun. A non-sense type of fun... but fun nonetheless. Some of it had me laughing out loud... but then again some of it had me shaking my head in disbelief. And I definitely got a kick out of both Chaka and Grumpy. But overall it was more entertaining then anything. Though I will say that for me it did go down hill a bit towards the end. Over-all I am glad I have it in my collection... and I can see myself watching it again. My Rating: 4/5 | | | Pete |

| Posted: | | | | Comedy BreakDVD Title: The Three Stooges: All The World's a Stooge Episode Title: 3 Dumb Clucks Director: Del Lord Year: 1937 Length: 17min. Cast:Moe Howard Larry Fine Curly Howard Lucille Lund Frank Mills Plot:"'Til death do us part" takes a new meaning as the Three Stooges try to prevent their father from marrying a gold-digging young floozy whose friends plan to kill him after the wedding. My Thoughts: I normally enjoy The Three Stooges quite a bit... but this short I found to be only average. I don't know why... but I just didn't find it all that funny. I just got one small chuckle out of this one. I did get a kick out of seeing the Stooge's father being played by Curly... only with fake bushy sideburns. My Rating: 2.5/5 | | | Pete |

| Posted: | | | | Title: Two Weeks Notice: Widescreen Edition Year: 2002 Director: Marc Lawrence Rating: PG-13 Length: 101 Min. Video: Anamorphic Widescreen 1.85:1 Audio: English: Dolby Digital: 5.1, French: Dolby Digital: 5.1, Commentary: Dolby Digital: 2-Channel Stereo Subtitles: English, French, Spanish Stars:Sandra Bullock Hugh Grant Alicia Witt Dana Ivey Robert Klein Heather Burns Plot:Attorney Lucy Kelson wants to save the world. Instead, she's choosing ties and interviewing prospective girlfriends for her handsome and hapless billionaire boss George Wade. Is this why she got a Harvard Law degree? Lucy's fed up, so she submits her notice. But Wade – with an assist from Cupid – has other plans. Written and directed by Marc Lawrence (Miss Congeniality). Two Weeks Notice is "sweet, sexy, sassy fun!" (Bill Bregoli, Westwood One). Extras:Scene Access Audio Commentary Feature Trailers Deleted Scenes Featurettes Production Notes DVD-ROM Content Closed Captioned My Thoughts: This is one I enjoyed quite a bit... but then I did always enjoy Sandra Bullock movies. Matter of fact... if it wasn't for being a Sandra Bullock movie I would have never given this one a chance as I never liked Hugh Grant movies. There is just something about him that has always bugged me. Out of almost 2,000 DVD releases this is the only movie I have with him in it. And while that is still true for this one.... he doesn't bother me as much as usual here. I thought he did a fine job and the character while kinda stupid was likable. Of course Sandra Bullock was great as usual. And the story is fun. My Rating: 4/5 | | | Pete |

| Posted: | | | | Comedy BreakDVD Title: The Red Skelton Show Episode Title: City Dump Year: 1960 Length: 25min. Cast:Red Skelton Vincent Price Jackie Coogan Plot:It is Valentine's Day, and Spanky, Alfalfa, Buckwheat, and Porky are not impressed. Deciding that romance is the bunk, the boys form the He-Man Woman Hater's Club. Alfalfa is willing to go along with this until he falls head over heels in love with classmate Darla. My Thoughts: This is a show I never seen before. He was one of my mother's favorites and this is from her collection. Maybe I just tried the wrong one to start with. But I just wasn't too impressed with it. Even though I really like both the guests on this episode. First of all... as I said many time before... I have become a big fan of Vincent Price. So it was fun to see him in something other then his normal movies. Then there is Jackie Coogan who I knew I recognized but couldn't put my finger on it. After the episode I looked it up and it turns out that he was Uncle Fester on The Adams Family. Now maybe it was just the episode I picked... or maybe the bit of a bad mood I was in when I watched it. But this show just didn't impress me. And I must say... I hated how it all started with a musical number. It was mildly entertaining... but not laugh worthy. My Rating: 2/5 | | | Pete |

| Posted: | | | | Title: Space Jam Year: 1996 Director: Joe Pytka Rating: PG Length: 87 Min. Video: Pan & Scan 1.33:1 Audio: English: Dolby Digital: 5.1, French: Dolby Digital: 5.1 Subtitles: English, French, Spanish Stars:Michael Jordan Wayne Knight Theresa Randle Manner 'Mooky' Washington Eric Gordon Penny Bae Bridges Plot:His Airness and His Hareness: what a team! Michael Jordan slams, Bugs Bunny jams and a cavalcade of Looney Tunes stars hoop it up in Space Jam, the rim-rattlin' animated/live-action roundball romp from Hollywood talents who refuse to let their imaginations be earthbound. The jokes fly and the fun never stops as the Tune Squad takes on the Nerdlucks in a hardcourt game to decide if the Looney Tunes remain here...or become attractions at a far-off galactic off-ramp called Moron Mountain. The Nerdlucks have a monstrous secret weapon on their side: they've stolen the skills of top NBA stars like Charles Barkeley and Patrick Ewing and become Monstars. But that's not all, folks. The Tune Squad also has a secret weapon. And he just happens to be the finest player in this or any other universe. He's outta this world. So's the fun. Extras:Scene Access Feature Trailers Production Notes Closed Captioned My Thoughts: This is a movie I haven't seen in years. Matter of fact I haven't seen anything with the Loony Toons since Brittany was just a toddler. And she is 14 now. Watching this today was Brittany's choice. She just got home from spending a few days at her grandmother's house and wanted to watch something with me. I enjoyed it quite a bit. It is a cute movie. Better then I was remember it being. It has a few decent laughs in it. I am glad we watched this one today. My Rating: 4/5 | | | Pete |
