| Posted: | | | | What place within Profiler's crew options would the "head writer" fit for a tv series, if at all? I'm not entirely sure I follow the purpose of this position. One sense he sounds like a supervisor, but in others cases it seems like more than that. (Actually, I have several questions about crew data since, unless it is a spelled out exactly the same in the credits as in Profiler, I have a difficult time understanding what is what ) | | | If at first you don't succeed, skydiving isn't for you.

| Posted: | | | | Have never seen the credit head writer, from my gut I would say he qualifies under the category writer, but do not take that for granted Donnie | | | www.tvmaze.com |

| Posted: | | | | When I used to watch soaps I saw that credit a lot. At least in soaps, the head writer supervises the team of writers for the show. The head writer works on the overall long-term story while the team writes the individual episodes.
Since the rules specifically state to include supervising personnel, I would include the head writer credit under writer. | | | If more of us valued food and cheer and song above hoarded gold, it would be a merrier world. -- Thorin Oakenshield |

| Posted: | | | | I would class a "head writer" as a supervising writer as well. |

| Posted: | | | | Ah, more shoehorning of credits. Gotta love it. For what it's worth, Wikipedia has this to say on the subject:
A head writer is a person who oversees the team of writers on a television or radio series. The title is common in the soap opera genre, as well as with sketch comedies and talk shows that feature monologues and comedy skits, but in prime time series this function is generally performed by an executive producer. | | | No dictator, no invader can hold an imprisoned population by force of arms forever. There is no greater power in the universe than the need for freedom. Against this power, governments and tyrants and armies cannot stand. The Centauri learned this lesson once. | Posted: | | | | One could say that 'head writer' is a direct translation of 'supervising writer'. But I would prefer if the rules would go after function instead of label in the first place. Even if wikipedia might hint into this direction, I can't see 'head writer' as the soap opera direct translation of the prime time 'executive producer' though.
