| Posted: | | | | I've been trying to help my brother install 3.0 and get it up, and we've run into a problem.
The installation goes fine, until we try to restore his 2.5 backup file. It would process up to the point where it hit cover scans and then it locks up his system hard. I've had similar problems in 2.5 when I'd get a JPEG #36 error from a goofed up jpg file. Some of the scan file names are weird in format, although so far all display properly in a jpg viewer.
So, I had him create a new, clean backup from 2.5 WITHOUT cover scans. That processed all the way through no sweat and gave him the exception list of UnconvertedUPCs.lst so that verifies that the problem is with the scans.
We tried running the Cleanup utility, and then doing just a backup of covers, but that choked almost immediately when we tried to restore it. So, at this point, he has 3.0 up and running, but sans cover scans.
Does anybody have any ideas on how to fix this? He's got 2600 profiles so... | | | John

| Posted: | | | | I used to get the JPG error a lot my old desktop. Since I've swithced to my current laptop it's not been a problem. Might be worth copying his profiler folder to another machine and trying the backup again. | | | IVS Registered: January 2, 2002 |
