Got my BD copy of Salt, Norwegian locality. There are three versions of this film.
Theatrical
Director's Cut
Extended Cut
So which version should I watch first?

Director's cut, IMO. It is quite the same than Theatrical with a few added or extended sequences (and it is not nessary to watch theatrical after).
Extended Cut is rather different, with a scene deleted in the middle, allowing a totally different ending. Could also be seen first, but you have no idea of the theatrical  ending.

Yeah, the extended cut. It's very different than the theatrical version and from others I've talked to is a better film overall as well.

SPOILER
The one big scene in the middle is very different, well same outcome for one character but the scene itself is far more intense.

I went with the Extended Cut for my first viewing. After that I'll probably watch the Director's Cut

Personally i hate alternative endings. The worst thing they can do with a DVD is add one to the extras. It takes away the "magic".

IDK, I kind of liked this ending. Pretty interesting and in this case, but in general not sure how it takes away from the magic. Can you expand on that?

Yeah, me too. I really like the extended, so if the Director's makes a different ending, I'm really interested in watching it now.

You forgot one other choice, how about "don't rent/buy."

I actually thought this one really weak.

Wasnt talking about this movie in  particular, but alternative endings generally. If they do the same thing in a different way, those are ok. But when like suddenly someone doesnt die or something similar. It kinda ruins it for me. To me it feels like when you're watching a movie, and after that end credits the director shouts "JUST KIDDING!".

Ah, ok. See, I like alternate endings because somewhere along the way the director (or producers) found something "wrong" (either because it didn't test well or they wanted to make more main stream) so I like to see what they did and better yet, explain why they had the alt. ending in the first place. Most of the time the alternate ending is nothing but a few extra moments which doesn't really change anything while a few others do have an impact.
