I still have some LD's lying around, but my player has died. I'm holding onto them for sentimental reasons for the time being but might sell them later down the line.

My LD/DVD combi player died on me last year.
Still have a Pioneer LD player hooked on to my pc.., i'm still planning to copy disc with movies who don't get to dvd on my pc and burn them on dvd-r.
Unfortunaly a few disc have laser rot and don't play anymore. 
Still a couple of 50 LD's to go....

I am one of the ones that never even seen a laser disc... I went directly from VHS to DVD.

I went laser when dvd came out but was doing lots of FS barebones releases, so I grabbed a player cheap on ebay and picked up a few discs over the years.

Last year my player finally died, so now I still have a couple of old lasers but most have better dvds now. Still, the laser covers make great wall art, esp. ones with cool alternate art like Escape from New York and Criterion's The Killer. Oh yeah, Tales from the Hood with it's gold and silver foil highlights looks sharp as hell too.

Thankfully I ripped everything to dvd I needed to before the death. There's a couple litttle things I never got, like the different deleted scenes on The Howling or the Ebert review for Halloween from the Criterion ld, but those are short features I can probably find online anyway. If not, my buddy still has a working player and will rip stuff for me if I ask.

I had a laser disc of Criterion's King Kong with Richard Haver's commentary.. then the day came back in early 2003 when I had a buyer for my LD player and most of my laser discs if not all., and that also included this
RARE Criterion title...
  what to do what to do??.., I finally decided to put some scotch-tape over the erase tab on a Turner Classic VHS title of King Kong (1933) that was colorized ( I know I know,, )  but I wanted to keep the colorized in Dolby Hifi stereo , and erased/replaced the analog mono linear tracks ,- dubbed the running Haver commentary to 'sync up' with the hi-fi audio soundtrack of this VHS, ,and viola I now have various versions of King Kong from my 2005 DVD.. to this colorized VHS dolby stereo ( Max Steiner's score) as well as SAP audio of the now  defunct rare out of print Haver's commentary..
( Ray Harryhausen, & Ken Ralston did the  audio commentary on the DVD .. no comparison to Ronald Haver
