-R Harry Potter BD's (except the new one) are all $9.99 this week 11/6-11/12. Whole 8-film set on Blu for $79.99. Bunches of Blu-rays at $7.99, $9.99, $11.99. Not just crap titles, good stuff here. Get someone the new LEGO Harry Potter Yrs. 5-7 game for Xmas plus any HP7 Pt.2 (3D or BD or DVD) and get $20 off -- that's getting the movie free! Over 100 DVD titles at $4.99 for those of you who haven't made the switch to Blu. Best Buy's sales were always better while Circuit City was still alive and across the street, but they still beat Target & Wally World most of the time, and their stuff is almost always in stock. Now if Fry's would just build a store closer than 25 miles away... | | | “Practically perfect people never permit sentiment to muddle their thinking.” — M. Poppins, 1964 |

| Posted: | | | | On the subject of Best Buy, their JV in the UK has not gone well: BBCThe Southampton branch is about about 10 miles away. I had a look around it (being a devotee of the US stores whenever I'm over that side of The Pond*) but their prices did not persuade me to part with my cash. However, I didn't expect them to go down so quickly. *most notably when I dragged the family across San Francisco to BB on the last day of our vacation in order to acquire three Warner Bros double bill Sci-Fi DVDs that had been discussed on these very forums. | | | Chris | | | Last edited: by Mole |

| Posted: | | | | Strangely I got an email from Best Buy UK today that said: Quoting Best Buy: Quote: Early Birds, we're ready and waiting And went on to say that I should go there for all my Christmas Tech needs. Will they still be there at Christmas? Also, are they saying (or hinting) that they are having a massive "fire" sale for Christmas? It was a shame, but as one critic pointed out, their shops look like a "Cheap" supermarket from the outside, and not a Tech Wonder Palace. - That and the "name" was not well known in the UK. Also, only giving it about a year to succeed, not really long enough. But hey... Shame, as Dixons/Currys (DSG) need to have felt some competition. Oh well | | | Signature? We don't need no stinking... hang on, this has been done... blast [oooh now in Widescreen] Ah... well you see.... I thought I'd say something more interesting... but cannot think of anything..... oh well And to those of you who have disabled viewing of these signature files "hello" (or not) Registered: July 27, 2004 |

I knew Best Buy would fail over in this part of the world. There are already many well established electronic goods vendors in the British isles. Even when Wallmart smartly bought Asda, instead of setting up there own stores. They still could not beat Tesco. | | | Last edited: by ShinyDiscGuy |

| Posted: | | | | The only problem I have with Best Buy is that their selection has turned into complete crap. It's a banner day when I actually find something I'm looking for on their shelves. |

It's been like that at my local BB store here for years. I rarely even walk in Best Buy anymore, unless it's actually a good deal that I know about. Their DVD, Blu-ray and Music sections are terrible compared to other such stores like Hastings. Even the local (overpriced) Barnes & Noble has a better selection. They also have the absolute dumbest, laziest people imaginable working at this store. I can't vouch for other stores of course, but they are just plain incompetent at this store. | | | Corey |

They sometimes have some good sales at B&N, but yeah their prices are pretty much the SRP in stores. You can often order them far cheaper (same with books) off their own website. | | | Corey | | | Last edited: by Katatonia |

| Posted: | | | | I often get my Criterion Collection at Barnes and Nobel as the quite often have for as much as 50% off. Recently I got The Island of Lost Souls for $18.00 and Che for $22.00, and if you have a membership card with the that's worth another 10% off. Rory (btw like Katatonia my Best Buy here in Merced, Ca to put it politely Sucks. I very rarely buy DVD's or Blu-rays there anymore. It's truly sad when WalMart and Target has a better selection, and to call the personnel ignorant and lazy would be complimentary in this case. ) | | | DVD Profiler for iOS as of 3/5/2013 DVD Profiler for Android as of 5/17/2013 | | | Last edited: by rorymatt |

| Posted: | | | | My Best Buy is pretty good and the people are usually great. I haven't had many problems, but when I have, the manager has always fixed it without much fuss. | | | No dictator, no invader can hold an imprisoned population by force of arms forever.
