| Posted: | | | | This is one of those cases where the BY-system doesn't give the desired result, so I would say that it doesn't make sense to enter the BY here. | | | It all seems so stupid, it makes me want to give up! But why should I give up, when it all seems so stupid?

| Posted: | | | | This is why we need a better separator, or else flip a coin for which one gets the BY. I just realized that my 3 credits for the name have the Ms. America picture, but 2 are the other one. Custom BY for me starting now. At least I noticed thanks to this thread, so thanks to this thread. Also big thanks to Firefox for somehow saving me from typing this again after another short power outage. Now I have even less reason to ever use IE again! |

| Posted: | | | | Entering the BY would just make sense if it one would be left without BY. ...But this will still stay some kind of possible error factor. |

So you couldn't have two entries as follows 1) Blank Birth year 2) non blank Birth year | | | Paul |

So you couldn't have two entries as follows 1) Blank Birth year 2) non blank Birth year No, you can have a name with a BY and the same name without. As an example, I have two Bruce Campbells in my database...the famous one, born in 1958, and an unknown that died in 2005. The only one, in my local, with a BY is the famous one. | | | No dictator, no invader can hold an imprisoned population by force of arms forever. So you couldn't have two entries as follows 1) Blank Birth year 2) non blank Birth year As said by Ace and the Martian, you can add it in this way to your database. So if online also one would be with BY and one without BY, DVDP finds for both a different entry at your database. I'm not sure at the moment, but I think there was a possibility after a restore or database repair they get merged together. To prevent this you can add a Hs to the persons, so both entries will stay. |
