Took a quick search in the forums and did not find this addressed.

Rule for Overviews states "For multi-language cases, use only the language of the DVDs locality."

However Canada is a bilingual country, French and English. So, is it appropriate to include both the French and English overviews on discs released Canada wide (as we do have a separate Canada Quebec locality for French only releases)?

Personally I see no problem including both.

There is a profile change currently up for vote that this affects (The Hunter [774212-002892])

Thanks

And thus has 2 Localities in DVD Profiler
- Canada
- Canada (Quebec)
The first for english, the latter for french.

This is how I understand it as well.
No dictator, no invader can hold an imprisoned population by force of arms forever.
There is no greater power in the universe than the need for freedom.
Against this power, governments and tyrants and armies cannot stand.

We will teach it to them again.

This is an issue that has been discussed a number of times before, though thread titles aren't always the best giveway. Also a lot was established when Invelos' precursor Intervocative.com was the home of DVDprofiler. Those forums are still accessible, but 'search' is best done via Google or similar.

Giving ""Quebec language site:intervocative.com" as a snack to Google  , reveals a number of relevant threads like this one or this one. Enjoy.

So glad there is a Canada (Quebec) locality, I'd hate to have to manually remove the french from all my profiles.

Odd. I've taken part in probably at least four separate discussions about it over the past couple of years. Ahhh searching Invelos forums... how you drive everyone crazy.

Answer has already been given, but yeah... Canada Locality = English Overview. Canada (Quebec) Locality = French Overview.

The only official bilingual Province in Canada is actually New Brunswick (where as Quebec is obviously unilingual with French as it's official language). So there's no reason to include the French synopsis on the Canadian locality profiles, and no reason to include the English synopsis on the Canada (Quebec) profiles. It's why we've got the separate localities to being with.

And I'm with DoubleDownAgain. It's a pain in the butt  . If there wasn't a Canada (Quebec) locality, I'd go insane removing all the French synopsis' from my local.
The night is calling. And it whispers to me soflty come and play.
