I purchassed DVD Profiler App for my IPAD.  I already have DVD Profiler on my PC and want to transfer that collection of 1,369 DVDs to my IPAD.  It asks me do i have DVD Profiler for my PC and I said Yes, connect DVD Profiler for PC.  It brings screen up with HOST, PORT and PASSWORD.  I know Port and Password but I don't know what Host.  How do I find out what Host to use?  Can someone help me with this question.

sure no problem...

open up dvd profiler on your pc... go to Tools -> Options -> Sharing

there you can set (or disable) the view and change access passwords... I would recommend making them the same if it's just you using the software.

you will also want to make sure the top box "share my collection on the network" is checked...

below that you will see what port you are using...  now all that is left is your host...

this is the most complex part, i can guide you how to set it up the way my setup is, which is the simplest.

you will want to move down to the "grant access to" box, and check the radio button "any computer including those on the internet" then go ahead and hit the test button. This will pop up a window telling your host address (IP address) and your port once again. It will also tell you if the setup is fully working.

If it says that it is not working, the most common thing that needs to be done is to forward the port that you are using, to your specific computer in your router's settings. If you need help doing that post back and myself or someone else will surely be able to help you along.

1) go here and follow instructions to get your local ip and Default gateway. Write these down.

2) open web browser and type in your gateway , for example 192.168.1.1

3) log in to router

4) find advanced -> port forwarding / trigger or similar wording

5) add a custom service, select forwarding, name it DVD profiler, enter the port you are using for DVD profiler and your local ip address in the server section.  Apply.

That should do it - return to DVD profiler and run the test again. If test is successful - use info on test screen to sync iPad

Let us know

Thanks it worked perfectly.  I now have DVD Profiler all 1,369 DVDs on my IPAD.  The next thing I will do is put it on my cell phone.  Once again thanks for your patience in this matter.
