Why would anyone need to collect nooks?  I mean isn't the whole point of an eReader is that you can  have access to millions of eBooks?  What would be the point of cataloging multiple nooks?

I use Collectorz.com but I'm not a huge fan. They are continually asking for money to update the product. They are going over to user contributed information as well.

You could try Library Thing.  It's all online though.

I personally use DVD Profiler itself for it. It's not ideal, but it suits my needs.

I made custom "media types" for the different kind of book types (hardcover, paperback, ...).
I use the genres as they are.
I put the author(s) into the crew listing under (suprise!) writer.
I scan the covers myself.
I put the language in the subtitle section

I'm using tags to determin if it's fiction or non-fiction.

Result: Book Profiler

The best one I've found is a france-based program called Numento. It's fully customisable and their customer service is great.

It's also still being developed and they are very open to suggestions.

I use it for my books, cds, mp3s and other collectibles....except DVDs because nothing beats profiler.

The best one by far is BookCAT.  Give it a try.  Great forum for questions, also.

People collect books for the same reason we collect movies.  I collect books.  I love books.  I hope I'm not around when they print the the last book.  Gutenberg will will turn in his grave,  Sad thing is most people don't know who that is.  Do you?

I agree with Floorwalker.

I own over 2,000 books and that is not likely to decrease any time soon. I own a Kindle and, while I think it's great, it doesn't replace the feel of an actual book.

However, if anyone wanted to reduce the cost of eBooks across the board and then give me my entire book collection for free I'd probably consider it.

Also, as for Skip and the 'nooks' (!!!!????) statement...have you gone over to entirely digital copies for your DVDs and Blu-rays? No more physical media?

You need to reread the post.  DoubleDownAgain was poking fun at Skips typo...he wrote Nooks, not Books.  His post was, because a nook holds multiple books, nobody needs to collect them.
No dictator, no invader can hold an imprisoned population by force of arms forever.
There is no greater power in the universe than the need for freedom.
Against this power, governments and tyrants and armies cannot stand.
The Centauri learned this lesson once.
We will teach it to them again.
Though it take a thousand years, we will be free.
