I bought the BD+Digital Copy from Walmart on Black Friday, entered it into DVD Profiler, and got the BD+DVD+Digital Copy cover + data from the UPC I entered, which is wrong for the edition I bought (not to mention the extra disc info for the DVD I don't have/didn't get/ultimately deleted). Why couldn't they have altered the UPC for the different editions? I like things neat and tidy in my database, accurate representations and all that. | | Posted: | | | | Yep; same problem here with the UK Cleanskin BD I just ordered; looks like the Triple Play is now a single BD release and has the same EAN.
My Knight and Day BD lost the DVD by the time I bought that release with the same EAN too.
Hopefully if this becomes more common (and sadly it seems likely, certainly with Warner) DVDP will somehow be updated to handle the different versions... which would of course open the way to handling re-releases with the same EAN/UPC of any sort. | | | | It is dangerous to be right in matters where established men are wrong |

This goes hand in hand with the multiple cover issue. I have a possible answer but we would need additional data keys. Here are the possibilities, upc/ran, ISBN (when available), catalog #.and disc I'd. Theoretically using those four numbers should be able to any release worldwide. My fear...what if all four numbers matched up with two releases. Unlikely but possible, I would hope not. | | | ASSUME NOTHING!!!!!!
