I was just watching an old English film, The Night My Number Came Up, that has the following opening credits:
The J. Arthur Rank Organisation presents
an Ealing Studios
Michael Balcon Production
Released through General Film Distributors Limited
Now, my question is this; if General Film Distributors released the film, what function did The J. Arthur Rank Organisation have? Are they both releasing studios? Should both be entered as releasing studios, e g before Ealing Studios? |
