| Posted: | | | | Should The Hammer Collection be treated like The Criterion Collection and be placed in the MC field as well as the Edition field?
Example UPCs: - 013131-068290 - 013131-068290 - 013131-107791 - 013131-050592 |

| Posted: | | | | I think you're teasing but the second is Hammer Collection - not The Hammer Collection.
Edit: But seriously, there are many Media Companies that do not have official web sites and are not a required to be entered into the database. | | | Last edited: by Kathy |

Also notice that Criterion is a division of Janus Films, Hammer isn't a division of Anchor Bay. | | | Last edited: by Jimmy S |

Technically The Criterion Collection has no business in the Edition field... | | | Achim [諾亞信; Ya-Shin//Nuo], a German in Taiwan. Registered: May 29, 2000 (at InterVocative) |

Technically The Criterion Collection has no business in the Edition field... I couldn't agree more. | | | No dictator, no invader can hold an imprisoned population by force of arms forever. | Posted: | | | | Actually, the rules specifically tell us that's where to put it: Quote: The Edition field is for distinguishing between DVDs, and for indicating special versions and collections (for example The Criterion Collection, Widescreen, Full-Screen Edition, Director's Cut). So as far as the rules are concerned it goes in both Edition and MC. | | | If more of us valued food and cheer and song above hoarded gold, it would be a merrier world. -- Thorin Oakenshield | | | Last edited: by Danae Cassandra |

It helps to distinguish for example my Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas from my Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas: The Criterion Collection. I would agree if all Criterion titles were unique but since they licence all their material from other studios they often make different editions, which is exactly what the edition field is meant to track. | | | First registered: February 15, 2002 |

While that is true, the same could be said for other things that make a release different. The fact remains, if they were called Criterion Home Entertainment, odds are we wouldn't be having this discussion. | | | No dictator, no invader can hold an imprisoned population by force of arms forever. Fair enough. Yeah, Martian nailed how I feel about it. I see it as the equivalent of naming editions "The Fox Collection" or "The Universal Home Entertainment Collection". | | | Reviewer, HorrorTalk.com
