Hi there,

I bought the box "The Very Best of Charlie Chaplin" (UPC 4006680052311) a few weeks ago.
The profile has no child profiles but had the disc-IDs of all the discs. The latter I changed and submitted according to the rules for box sets.
Now I wanted to add the child profiles and stumbled over the following problem:
The individual movies (six of them) do not have UPCs. The disc-IDs partly show different profiles for the movies and partly still show to the parent profile.
So my question is what can I do about that or is there a possibility to create a new profile without a UPC.

It's possible that some of the discs are already part of different releases so the only thing you can do with them is to attach them to your box set but the profiles still have to match the original (first) release for the online.

For those that don't already exist you simply create new profiles with the disc ID as identifier and contribute them the regular way.

Sorry, I don't follow, what EXACTLY did you do?

"Shows" as in "Shows when I try to add them via: Add DVDs to Collection -> Add DVD by Disc-ID"?
In that case: Simply uncheck 'Download profile from Invelos' in the lower left corner and proceed with entering the necessary data.

If the Disc-ID is present in the Disc-Section of one or multiple UPC-based profiles already, DVD Profiler gives you the opportunity to download this. It also shows if Disc-ID-based Profiles are present, check which you get shown.

To all: if you want to generate child-profiles from already existing profiles you really should install BulkEdit it's a real time-saver.

Sorry, I was overly complicated. I erased the disc IDs from the parent profile, submitted the change and it went through.

Thanks, I will try that.

But after my change to the parent profile it shouldn't be present in the parent profile, or am I wrong?

Well ... yeah, maybe.

Disc-IDs seem to be a bit special, if for instance 3 new Disc-IDs are submitted for the 3 discs in profile "$A" all 6 Disc-IDs will trigger the profile $A henceforth.
Maybe the same mechanism works even after deleting them?
