Hello

Think was already discussed. But Ken should take a note of this. I had now several cases of new scans. All of them have a very good colormatch and readability on the Backcover, this is surely better. But all of them have a too dark Frontcover that looses too many details. So, how to vote?

YES voting for Backcover but Frontcover NO
or
NO voting to Frontcover but Backcover YES

This is a dilema, we really should be able to give a vote for the Frontcover and a vote for the Backcover, then this would be much easier and only the best scans would go online then.

What think others and what Ken about this wish?

Fritz

What do you do, if someone contributes changes in cast and in crew, and there is a mistake in crew?

You only have one vote for the whole contribution.

Otherwise we need a vote for every single change thats in a contribution ...

Sometimes you just have to weigh them overall when voting.

Is the back a lot better, but the front is just slightly worse in some areas? Sometimes just add a voting comment or PM the user, and sometimes they'll try to remedy the difference and resubmit.

I don't think we need separate votes on front and back coverscans. As F1D stated above, there's no reason to make things that more complex for voters.

When viewing the vote for a profile, if the one of the cover scans is better than what I have, I just copy it.

It would be nice to selectively vote on just the front or the back.

I would vote no... it isn't a winning situation to improve one side and worsen the other. Maybe I would PM the contributor asking him/her to try to redo the bad side again if he/she feels like it.

I would vote Neutral and scan my own cover.

Vote = Yes or no. "Neutral" is not a vote.

Not again ...

For DVDProfiler purposes it is, that's why we have the button to vote this way.
It doesn't influence the result, no other voter nor the contributor can see it, but it's nevertheless a "vote" and it simply means "I don't care either way".
It all seems so stupid, it makes me want to give up!
But why should I give up, when it all seems so stupid?

That's obviously incorrect, since when I vote Neutral for a profile it no longer shows up in my "Unvoted Pending Updates" list.

It doesn't increment the vote counter which tells me that it isn't regarded as a proper vote. It's rather a "skip and don't show me this again" option.

As for the real topic, I don't think we need separate votes for the front and back covers but it would REALLY help to have separate votes for the covers and the rest of the data.

Vote no but with a note about which one is better, then send the user a PM saying the same thing and ask nicely to re-sub with just the better cover. I have dozens of locked custom covers but can still just keep the scan/image no one wants/is against the rules, re-set the covers and add the new one to submit, then bring back my custom for my local.

Separate votes for front and back would be cool but isn't a huge deal. I love the choice to accept only front or back cover updates in the new program though.
