Hi

I have the "Monty Python Monster Box Set" that I had added using Disc IDs as the bar code covers the whole sets with no bar codes for individual titles in it.
The problem in doing this is it then links me to the exact title but in the wrong packaging from a different box set that the UK market have included it in.

Can I alter this and contribute it as a child profile for the Monster Box Set? If so, how?

The answer is: Yes, IF ...

... you haven't purchased the UK box-set. If you have, you are doomed to live with the "wrong" pictures in your online collection. For your local collection you can change the cover images to match your box-set. But in this case those pics must not be contributed to the maindatabase. To be on the safe side you should lock those images, so that they don't get changed back with the next profile-update.

... if you haven't purchased the UK release simply highlight the profile in question in your collection list and go to menu "DVD -> Change Locality...". Here you can change the current locality to the desired value.
It all seems so stupid, it makes me want to give up!
But why should I give up, when it all seems so stupid?

Many Thanks!!!!

I have indeed purchased the UK box set

Is there no way to fix this bug? I had a similar problem with my "Frasier" box sets criss-crossing with The Complete Box Set?

Maybe allowing two versions on the same ID ala England & Ireland on the same bar-code.

It's not really a bug, the program just hasn't been written to take account of re-releases with different artwork, which applies to both EANs and disc ids.

Really needs Ken (the programmer) to come up with a way of being able to uniquely identify discs in this scenario, not sure how to do this if the disc id and EAN are the same though, maybe include release date.

England and Ireland work because these are unique locality identifiers.

Alter yes, contribute no. However all changes you make locally will be uploaded to your online collection, with the exception of custom cover scans.

Any way I can bring this to Ken's attention? Though I'm sure he's aware.

And as has been said in the other thread you opened - don't shout (aka using all Capital letters) when adding a new topic to the forum..

There are alternative solutions if you have your own server space, such as phpDVDProfiler.
