| Posted: | | | | My online collection is listed correctly but when I downloaded it to a new computer there are close to a hundred films missing the Sort Title data.
Is this a bug and can it be fixed? |

| Posted: | | | | When you want to install your collection on a new computer, the best is using a backup file that you restore in the new computer. I"m not sure what is exactly in online collection. At least personal data is missing. | | | Images from movies |

| Posted: | | | | Personal data are indeed missing in the public display, Yves, but NOT in a download of your online collection. The only thing missing then are custom images.
EDIT: @Kathy: I can't seem to reproduce this phenomenon. In general, Yves is right that this is not the best way to move your collection to a new computer. Restoring a backup of your collection on the old computer is indeed preferable, if only because then you will get your own cover scans whereas a download of the online will only give you the scans as they are in the central database. | | | Last edited: by dee1959jay |

| Posted: | | | | When I look at my online collection under All, everything is alphabetized correctly.
But, after downloading it and look under All, 585 titles do not have any information under Sort Title.
So, all of these titles show up before the rest of my collection - none of these is missing the Sort Title data.
Why would most of the titles download correctly and others do not?
If it correct online - why would the database remove this information when I download it?
Please note that none of these titles were changed by me (personal data, custom covers, etc.). |

| Posted: | | | | Have you tried a database repair yet?
Possibly the data wasn't uploaded correctly from your "original" database for some obscure defect. | | | It all seems so stupid, it makes me want to give up! But why should I give up, when it all seems so stupid?

If you have cast/crew headshots and/or images for galleries, a backup is also the best way to get them on a new computer. | | | Images from movies | | | Last edited: by surfeur51 |

| Posted: | | | | I know what would be "best" but I'm just trying to understand why the program is doing what it is doing.
It drives me crazy when something isn't working the way it should and I can't figure out the reason why.
When I uploaded the collection the Sort Title data was there and now it isn't. I don't understand computers but I don't see a logical reason how or why this would occur.
I do database repairs frequently. I also do them before I upload my collection to or download from the online database. | | | Last edited: by Kathy |
