Hey,

Could somebody help me with telling me what I did wrong in the follow contribution?
I contributed, on sep 14, a new entry for the profile for Mission: Impossible: Ghost Protocol (UPC: 5050582880045, Belgian locality) >> Blu-Ray + DVD as a child, because it got a French audio track and a French part in the overview. So it can't be the Dutch locality profile. The DVD got the same data as the Blu-Ray for crew/cast/overview/...
This new entry is approved and released on sep 14. No problem so far.

On sep 15 I saw that I forgot to add the French part of the overview. So I added it to the overview to match the cover of Bla-Ray and DVD and contributed it again.
Today the DVD-profile is approved, but the Blu-Ray-profile is declined. How could this be right? They are both the same.

Hopefully somebody could tell me what I did wrong, I don't see what could be wrong.

The problem here would be that those that decide about the validity of your contribution are Americans.
Probably not too many of them know that Belgium has three official languages, so the decline is probably based on this rule:
Quote:
For multi-language cases, use only the language of the DVDs locality.
It all seems so stupid, it makes me want to give up!
But why should I give up, when it all seems so stupid?

Thanks for the response Lewis_Prothero.

I just don't get it why they approved the dvd-profile and declined the blu-ray-profile, both are the same besides the specific DVD or Blu-Ray info.

I'm gonna try and contribute it again and explain that Belgium got 3 official languages. So the French part of the overview is correct.

I made a new contribution, with explanation why it is correct to add a Dutch/French overview. Hopefully they will approve it now

It could have been that one person was the screener for the DVD and another person for the Blu-ray. And one of them didn't know.

Because the screeners are human, mistakes are made.  I have had a decline or two where it just did not make sense.

In those cases I opened up a ticket explaining how the contribution followed the rules to my understanding and for them to please look at it and if was in fact incorrect to explain why so I could learn from the experience

On all those cases the they reversed the decline and said it was declined by mistake.

I would just do that if I were you,  The worst case is that if the decline stands they will explain in more detail why

when they don't have a clue. This is what you get.

An invalid source, such as a third party database, was listed in the contribution notes. Use of a third party database is not allowed per the contribution rules.

Thanks for your response Scooter1836.
I understand that the screeners could make mistakes, and I'm fine with that. Afterall everybody can make a mistake. If I hadn't made one to begin with, we wouldn't be writing here
I couldn't understand that the blu-ray profile was declined and the child dvd profile was approved, while they are the same, besides the specific info for DVD and BR.
But as Pete (Addicted2DVD) said, it's possible that both profiles are screened by different people.
So I made a new contribution and explained that the overview in Dutch and French should be ok, because we have the both as an official languages here. Hopefully it's ok with that explanation, otherwise I will do it your way and take a ticket

Sorry ateo357, but did you read all the posts from me here and did you actually looked at all the contributions for this profile?
I said my new entry contribution was approved and released. I'm checking all my DVD's and Blu-Ray's so that they all would be ok per the contribution rules. In my contributions there are no third party databases mentioned, because I don't use them. There was an other dude that tried to contribute this profile before me, and yes he mentioned he used IMDB, but because he did it's not so that everybody else did for this profile. OK?
It's an update of my approved and released profile that is declined, but only the Blu-Ray profile and not the child DVD profile, that is exactly the same, besides the specific info for DVD or BR.

This would seem to be a screener mistake.

BTW: the fact that there is a French audio track and a French text in Overview does not preclude such a release to be sold in the Netherlands. There are plenty of those on sale here.
For contribution purposes, the difference would be that for a Dutch profile you would leave out the French text in Overview, whereas for a Belgian profile you would include both the Dutch and French texts.
