| | Posted: | | | | Can someone remind me about how the resizing on submission works for DVDs vs Blu-rays? Is there a "perfect" crop size for each, such that if we submit that size, there's no work to do on the receiving end.
It looks like one of two dimensions might be fixed and the other allowed to float a bit

Blu-rays, at least so far, will never reach 700 because they are not as high...they will always be 500x??? (??? being something shorter than 700). Invelos always keeps the size proportional within the 500x700 limitation.

So if you resize the cover look which number is reached fist. As you observed the BD in all likelyhood reach the width-limit whereas the DVD tend to go to the height. Ratio should simply be the original or as close to it as technically possible. And be sure to follow those size to the pixel! I recently submitted a four-hundred -something by 701px DVD cover by accident. It got resized automatically in the contribution-process and looked awful afterwards. | | Posted: | | | | Me personally, I scan at 600dpi, 24 bit depth, do any touch-up needed, reduce to 300dpi and save for possible future additional clean-up. Leave them at 300dpi, reduce them to 500x700px and contribute. I have found that this will give a nice clean image for the online. | | | | Marty - Registered July 10, 2004, User since 2002. |
