Hello,

I got a 20th Anniversary Edition of E.T., in this release there are extra scenes, better visual effects and new digital performed audio. There are extra credits for this extra material. They are under a divider called '20th Anniversary Edition'.
Can/should I add these extra credits? If yes, should I add the divider to every section?

I just ask it, because I'm not sure if this is the same as locality crews. If it is I wouldn't add them.

Thanks.
Mitch.

No, it is not the same as location and/or unit crew.

If not already existing in the profile they should (in this case) be entered under a new Episode Divider.
It all seems so stupid, it makes me want to give up!
But why should I give up, when it all seems so stupid?

No... not an episode divider... it would be a group divider per the rules as they stand. Per the rules the only time to use episode dividers are for...

Rules Quote:
Quote:
Use Episode dividers for TV show episodes, distinct films, or other logical episodic distinction. Also use episode dividers for full cast division, such as "Japanese Voices".

This does not fall under any of those.... so if this is done at all it must be with group dividers.

Playing devil's advocate...

Why is this different than a location crew?

This is no different.  This is an alternate or other crew, doing primary film scenes.

I wasn't sure myself... which is why I said if done at all.

I have the Ultimate Gift Set for E.T. (025192260216), and my profile does list the 20th Anniversary Edition cast/crew using episode dividers. Not saying it's correct or not, just that's how it appears in the profile for my set.

Should the Production year be the one of the original movie (1982) or from the 20th Anniversary Edition (2001)?

The answer is in the rules: "Enter the year of the original theatrical release. For films that have been updated (e.g., a Special Edition or Directors Cut) use the year of the original release, not the year that the re-release was “made” or released."

Personally I don't see these credits as any different than unit/location crew, but that's just me...

It really isn't any different than location crew...other than the fact that they are not listed with the word 'unit'.  Based on what I have read, if the credit read '20th Anniversary Unit', we might be getting a different answer.
No dictator, no invader can hold an imprisoned population by force of arms forever.
There is no greater power in the universe than the need for freedom.
Against this power, governments and tyrants and armies cannot stand.
The Centauri learned this lesson once.
We will teach it to them again.
Though it take a thousand years, we will be free.

But what about 'Joe versus the Volcano', for example, where there is ONLY 'unit' Crew. (Hawaiian Unit/New York Unit) should we really enter neither?

Thanks Patrick. When I was reading the rules again, I saw the rule and used the original year in the contribution, but I forgot to change my question

Thanks guys.
I deleted the '20th Anniversary Edition'-credits and recontributed again without them.

Below is how the beginning of the 20th Anniversary credits looks in my set. This appears after the entire set of regular credits, including after the copyright section. In my set, these 20th Anniversary credits only appear on the 2002 Feature Film disc, which is the primary disc in the set. The second of the 4 discs in the set is labeled Original Feature and does not contain these credits (the other 2 discs in the set are a Bonus Materials disc and a CD soundtrack).

So, should I be removing these credits also? Looking at the Contribution Notes for the set I have, it looks like I was the one who added the cast/crew credits almost 5 years ago. Was I mistaken in adding the 20th Anniversary credits?

If these are going to be removed from the profiles, then I should be expecting the removal of the headers for special edition crew in the Star Wars releases. Or any other DVDs that have been reissued with enhanced sound, effects and color with crew listed for that specific release.
