Where did my cast go?

Recently I did a full audit for Boondocks Season 3. I did not do disc level cast and crew, just for the boxset as I like to keep my TV shows like that. Anyway, all got approved and all was good until this morning. Now my cast is gone from my local. I click on refresh dvd profile and it does nothing (cast and crew are both unlocked, crew stays, cast still gone). I ran the database repair and nothing. Opened and closed the program, nothing. Reboot my computer, nothing. Help!

If anyone else has the cast work I put in, which was hours, please re-submit it. This is for UPC 043396353398.

Do I have to lock every single cast and crew in every profile now? I'm going to just in case. I don't want to re-load my last back-up because I've done lots of little things for cast and crew on other titles which I didn't take notes of, plus I hadn't looked at this profile for a bit so the cast might've been gone before last back-up, which was just 2 days ago.

So fricking pissed! That cast work took hours, now it looks like I have to do it again. Any ideas why?

There isn't anything on the online database. I would send Ken a support ticket - since the data was approved he may be able to reenter that data on his end.

Never sent a support ticket before, where and how do I do it?

It was approved 10-22-13 and everything else is still there. Disc level profiles don't exist FWIW and it's like I never had the cast on my local. Guest voices I know are there don't show up for that person, it just dones't exist anymore but I have notes about the cast work in the contribution which I can only see was approved and can't open up to copy my cast back!

That's my issue too! I found the link for support tickets and opened one in hopes I didn't happy funtime up and not click the cast button when submitting. Unfortunately, the more I think about it, the more sense that makes. I really hope I didn't brainfart and Ken has the cast and can re-instate it to the profile. It would make sense in that I would've blindly accepted the profile update locally, and had left the cast and crew unlocked figuring it was all correct as I did it. So if the cast wasn't checked, I may have re-written all my cast with the blank list I forgot to check.

Doesn't anyone else own this awesome show? Was the cast there when the crew went up last month on my audit? I know for fact I did them at the same time (empty cast and crew when I got the dvd), and a cast common name note is on my contribution notes.

It may not help if you only have your last backup and the data was lost before then, but you can restore individual profiles.

On the restore screen where it has loads of tick boxes, the second from top radio button is restore specific profiles. The list underneath can then be accessed and you just tick the relevant profile.

Is it possible you forgot to tick the cast box when uploading and then overwrote the profile later? Looking at the collection of the one other person who's contributed for this series, the cast is not showing there but crew is, which suggests it never made it online.

Is it possible you forgot to tick the cast box when uploading and then overwrote the profile later? Looking at the collection of the one other person who's contributed for this series, the cast is not showing there but crew is, which suggests it never made it online.


Thanks for that, but it didn't work.
I'm starting to think I must have forgot to check the cast box when submitting and it never made it there, then my local got re-written as nothing when I accepted the profile figuring I did everything right and wouldn't have to worry about it. Guess I'll spend the rest of the day cussing at myself, then do the cast again next week.   Not looking forward to it. There's still a slim chance it's a program error, but with the cast not online I think I may've messed up bad. It keeps making more and more sense and seeming more and more probable. Insert me screaming obscenities at myself here.

It's easy enough to miss a check box when submitting long pages of cast and crew. I really wish there was a Check All box at the top and bottom.

I have seen this happen, where not all the contribution actually gets applied to the DB

It has happened enough to me I lock the cast and crew when I do an audit, set a tag on the profile to validate it after approval.  After validation I remove the locks and the tags.  But I only do this for contributions (like audits) where a heck of a lot of work was involved.

I used to never have the "Automatically lock all changed items" setting on, but have found it immensely helpful, especially in preserving my own changes.

I too have had problems where the cast/crew didn't get submitted. In my case, I think it was an error in the contribution page. I'd added uncredited castmembers, but for some reason the contribution page didn't have the usual confirmation box for adding uncredited cast. Since there was no box to tick, the DB must have thought I'd chosen not to submit the data.
