Japanese DVD with 14 digit barcode |

| | Posted: | | | | 5 years ago I bought Crayon Shin-chan: The Storm Called: The Adult Empire Strikes Back Japanese DVD on eBay. Strange thing is, the barcode contains 14 digits:  If I try to add this DVD to my collection, dvdp gives a warning message that I the UPC is invalid. Can't find any information about this release. There is only a rerelease for sale (contains another EAN): http://amzn.to/IB0SajIs this a valid UPC? And can I add this release with the 14 digit barcode and contribute it when I complete the profile? |

On both counts: No. I tried dropping number to get to an EAN or UPC but neither worked. I suspected a GTIN-14 number because "492" id one possible country-code for Japan, but the checksum would have to be 5 instead of 3. I'm afraid at the moment you only can submit it via Disc-ID. The copy of Stargate Universe Season 2 I got from a Play market place trader looked genuine initially. Right cover, discs had properly printed artwork etc...
Only got suspicious when none of the advertised subs were on any of the discs and the discs kept freezing for a couple of seconds every so often. Then a closer look at the quality of the cover (thin paper and blurred credit block) made me complain to the trader.
