I'm looking at a set that has 2 versions of the same film on a single disc.
The theatrical version has these audio tracks:
- English DTS HD Master Audio 5.1
- Italian Dolby Digital 5.1
- Mandarin Dolby Digital 5.1
- Portuguese Dolby Digital 5.1
- Czech Dolby Digital 5.1
- Hungarian Dolby Digital 5.1
- Polish Dolby Digital 5.1
- Russian Dolby Digital 5.1
- Thai Dolby Digital 5.1
- Commentary Dolby Digital 2-Channel Stereo
The extended edition (9 min longer) has only the following audio track:
- English DTS HD Master Audio 5.1

"For branching titles, or those with multiple versions (e.g. Theatrical and Director's Cut) on the same disc, use the longest running time. Exception: If the longer version is available only as part of an Easter Egg, use the shorter running time."
By analogy, this would suggest to use the data of the longest (extended) edition.
But I fully understand your hesitation - it feels like "losing data" to merely included the English audio track. So I wouldn't know for sure either. |

I've always included the primary list, in this case the theatrical version, plus any tracks on branching versions that differ in content/channels from those.
Since both version have DTS MA 5.1 I'd just use the one listed for the theatrical version for both. To list it twice is confusing since their is no way to distinguish which belong to which film version.
Had one been DTS 5.1 and one 7.1 you could list them both, but otherwise the theatrical version set has you covered.

To use the logic that since we use time from the longest all other fields must follow wouldn't work. You'd lose all those audio tracks, likely the matching subtitles which would only be on the theatrical version, the commentary track and the associated check box in Features, etc. | | | | Bad movie?
