Referencing UPC#683904-529886, Flash Gordon: The Complete Series (2007).  Are there different releases of this with the same UPC#?  I purchased this not too long ago from Target for cheap, added it into DVD Profiler, the cover scans are right, everything seems fine but the episode listing is all wrong for not only the parent but the children as well.  Back of the case states 22 episodes, listed in the Parent/Child profiles are only 21 with Pilot being episode #1, when in fact it's Pilot, Part 1 (or One), and Pilot, Part 2 (or Two, don't have it up on the TV right now to verify which one), which accounts for episodes 1 and 2, then the rest of the episodes add up to 22 total (as it should be, according to my set).  Not only that the episode listing for each of the 4 child profiles are offset by 1, as a result of the first episode (Pilot) not being split into 2 parts.

If there are more than one release using the same UPC#, that would (possibly) explain why the episode listing and number of episodes are wrong.  If it is in fact incorrect, I'd like to correct it, but not if my contribution is going to get shot down because of different releases.  Wouldn't want to waste your time and mine.

But if I'm right, I'd like to correct it.

Thanks!

It's a Mill Creek Entertainment release, and they quite often alter the covers or content listings for DVD sets. I have quite a few where they've changed things like that.

Chilling Classics: 50 Movie Pack (826831-070186) is a good example. I know there are at least 2 or 3 different versions of the set with the same UPC. Some have several alternate movies, or some of the films on different discs, etc.. and that's been altered on the back cover and disc content.

It's possible that you have a re-release cover, but sometimes these budget studios change them very soon after the release date. Sometimes it's very difficult to tell which is the original unaltered release. Echo Bridge Entertainment does this constantly too.

The covers that were assigned to this series when I entered the UPC# into DVD Profiler are the same as what I hold in my hand, the back cover scan (as well as my set) says right in the wording 22 episodes, while the episode listing for both the parent and the children list only 21, with the first episode being the reason why. Disc One of this series lists the Pilot episode as 2 episodes, Part 1 and Part 2.  As far as all of the episode listings on the children being off by one goes (presumably as a result of that first episode), it was my reason for posting here: to find out if there were more than one release of this under the same UPC#...

Which begs another question:  If there is a prior release of this where the episodes are as they are listed for the parent and child profiles in DVD Profiler, why would the contributor use cover scans of the Mill Creek release where it states 22 episodes right on the back cover scan, and the discs reflect that there are in fact 22 episodes, and are not in the same order as the parent/child listing in DVD Profiler?

It might be that the two part pilot episode was only listed as a single episode.

I've seen happen for TV shows where the Cast and Crew are the same for both parts. These two part episodes should be listed separately even if they are identical.

If this is the case, I would change the episode list to reflect the correct number of episodes.

I bought this set recently and updated the simple episode list for this Overview. If I had been more observant I would have corrected the data myself.

Thanks, I appreciate the responses.  When I have time I'll correct and contribute the proper episode listing.

Thanks again!
