This inquiry is for the recent contribution of this film

The screen actual credit is below:

Title Song performed by SHEENA EASTON
Music by BILL CONTI
Lyrics by MICHAEL LEESON
Produced by CHRISTOPHER NEIL

It doesn't refer to the song by title, even though we know the title. Unless its stated in the rules and I'm missing it the pending group divider doesn't belong since its not in the credits.

Using group dividers to place song titles in a contribution is a misapplication of the rules in any event.

While I agree
the action as such can be observed quite frequently (at least in Germany). Contributions trying to undo this get declined on a regular basis.
It all seems so stupid, it makes me want to give up!
But why should I give up, when it all seems so stupid?

Glad to learn that I'm not the only one who dislikes the overuse of dividers.

Ok gang, I'll stop using dividers. Although what sense does it make to list someone as a songwriter if you don't know what songs they wrote.

I actually like dividers for song writers, especially when multiple songs and associated writers are credited.

In this case though, since the song title isn't actually listed with the song writers than the use of dividers doesn't duplicate the actual on screen credit. Sure, logic would dictate that the song title is the same as the film, but logic can't be associated with the credits and DVD Profiler.

While I agree dividers are often overused, I still think having the song titles for writing credits is brilliant use of them. As for the OP, use a divider that reads "title song" like the credits.

The same sense it makes to list multiple Screenwriters, Art Directors or Directors of Photography when they're credited in a single film.

Per the Rules, we're allowed to use Group Dividers in the crew section for two purposes:  Company Names and Crew TEAMS.  A song credited to an individual fits neither of those requirements, and what sense does it make to contribute some song titles in Group Dividers if we cannot contribute (per Rules) all song titles in Group Dividers?

The better way to include song titles in your database is to use Custom Roles and not worry about the online database looking a bit different than your local database.

Agreed.

I like song dividers and FWIW, I did not include one in my audit of this film.

I like song dividers.  I think they add context to the credits, especially when you have multiple writers and multiple songs.

That being said, I wouldn't use a divider with the song title if none is present on screen.

Alright, I'll continue to use them, and the first chance I get to fix For Your Eyes Only, I'll change the divider to reflect the credits.

I believe this data is clearly addressed in the rules:

"Dividers allow the segregation of cast and crew into logical groupings. Wherever possible, these groupings should mirror the film credits."
