SRP problem on a contribution |

If not, please point me in the right direction  Today I was trying to update an existing profile which had most information missing. SRP was one of the existing fields I didn't touch, since I didn't have that information. The existing info shows: €0.00 Europe (Euro) When I tried to submit the changes, I got this message: This profile cannot be contributed due to the following errors: The SRP denomination type is incorrect. I tried deleting the monetary amount, then entering 0.00 into the field- same error message. I even tried going into my settings and changing Currency to Europe (Euro). That didn't work, either. The original profile shows Germany as the country of origin. The UPC is 693723798271, Title: Spock's Beard Live. Am I missing something? I really don't think it would be right for me to change the SRP to US/dollars. |

Your DVD has a US locality so you would be correct in changing the SRP from Euro > US dollars.

I just assumed that since this profile was someone elses contribution, I should just leave the SRP field alone. How do you determine the locality of the disc? Or, is that determined by MY locality? Dumb question, but I'm learning a lot here in the 3-4 weeks I've been using DVD Profiler.
And, especially, thanks for the price check link. I usually get that info from Amazon but, considering that their region coding for many discs is wrong, maybe their SRP is as well. |

Though the language on the DVD cover is English, the rating on the back cover is this, which I found on Wikipedia and copied: [white box symbol here] Ohne Altersbeschränkung (FSK 0): no age restriction (white sign) When I went to the production company's website (http://www.insideoutmusic.com/index.aspx), There was a "SHOP" link with selections for Europe and North America. Trying NA, I found only the CD set for sale. Going to the EUR site I found the DVD. I wish I'd written down the price, as now I'm getting "Webpage not available". I guess I should stick to buying new discs only from American stores/sites, but I have a great many titles I've purchased used from various sources... hence the problems I'm having |

| | Posted: | | | | The problem with many DVDs, expecially concert DVDs, is that often the same edition with the same UPC/EAN is sold in many different countries and therefore multiple localities are correct. The FSK rating that you mention indicates that this DVD is intended for sale in Germany. But that doesn't mean that it is not also intented for sale in the US. So either you just stick with this profilie you have in your database or you submit it with Germany as new locality. | | | Recently bought films:
