One example for alternative versions given in the contribution rules is the case where two movies are released on one single disc.
I read the rules, but I'm not completely sure that I understand everything correctly:
So we create a parent profile (with the upc) and add 2 child profiles (via disc id and disc id#1)?
Which data (cast, crew, audio, etc.) belongs to the parent profile and which data belongs to the child profiles?
Think different

Everything will be okay in the end. If it's not okay, it's not the end.

Yes, you created the child profiles with disc id and disc id#1.

You treat it like a normal boxset, so cast & crew are in the child and not present in the parent.

One of the examples in the rules is this:

A release with a single UPC/EAN, with two movies on the same side of the same disc:
UPC Entry: (Movie 1/Movie 2) data
Disc ID A Entry: Movie 1 data
Disc ID A Entry (Variant ID #1): Movie 2 data.

I assume that this is the situation you're referring to.

In such a situation, the parent profile should be a box set profile with no cast, crew, audio etc., and each of the child profiles should have these data for the movie in question only (so one of the two, not both).

Thanks for the answers.
But now, I have this case:
The El Mariachi Trilogy has 2 amarays in one box. One disc contains the movie Once upon a time in Mexico; the other disc contains two movies: El Mariachi and Desperado.
Both have no own upc/ean.
How to handle this?
As far as I read the rules it is forbidden to create variantes for El Mariachi & Desperado, isn't it?
Think different

Everything will be okay in the end. If it's not okay, it's not the end.

Are they on the same side of the disc?  I have a Double feature and they are each on one side of a flipper, if that is the case just use the DIsc IDs for each side.

But if it is the same side then create them using the Disc ID and Disc ID #1.  I think all three child profiles would be under the Parent ("El Mariachi Trilogy"), but not 100% without seeing it myself.

They are on the same side of the disc.
It's this release:
http://www.amazon.de/Mariachi-Trilogy-Desperado-Irgendwann-Blu-ray/dp/B004NZ1AY8

As I understand it, you mean:

Parent Profile (with upc): El Mariachi Trilogy
Child Profile 1: El MAriachi (with disc id 1)
Child Profile 2: Desperado (with disc id 1 variant #1)
Child Profile 3: Once upon a Time in MExico (with disc id 2)
Think different

Everything will be okay in the end. If it's not okay, it's not the end.

Yes, that looks right to me. I don't have any quite like that, separate cases, but I don't think that matters because they don't have UPCs.  I do have a few boxsets that had one movie on one disc and then two movies on another disc.  I have created profiles like yours and they were approved and released.

This is correct.

I have the same box with the same movies BUT amarays have UPCs...

Is this the correct way to contribute?

Parent Profile (with box upc): El Mariachi Trilogy
    + Child Profile 1: El Mariachi/Desperado (with upc 1)
        - GrandChild Profile 1: El Mariachi (with disc id 1)
        - GrandChild Profile 2: Desperado (with disc id 1 variant #1)
+ Child Profile 2: Once upon a Time in MExico (with upc 2)

Thanks!
