Hello

I got the German San Andreas 3D film. I have a strange problem with the Audio Tracks:
Backcover tells only Dolby Atmos for 2D and 3D. In BDInfo I get:
3D Disc
English Dolby Digital Plus 5.1
German Dolby True HD 7.1
2D Disc
English Dolby True HD 7.1
German Dolby True HD 7.1

The strange is the 3D Disc and English Track with Dolby Digital Plus and only 5.1. Do we have a problem with BDInfo or what is wrong here? Thanks for help of the you audio cracks.

Fritz

Hello,

the information BDInfo gives you for the 3D Disc is almost correct: According to the information
my Oppo 93 gives me, the 3D disc has only a Dolby Digital Plus 7.1 english track, no ATMOS/TrueHD for the english track. Warner Germany seems to give the priority to the dubbed german track, which is in Dolby TrueHD/ATMOS on both the 3D and 2D disc. Warner Germany did the same thing on the 3D disc of "Mad Max: Fury Road".

For DVDProfiler, i think the audio track information for the 3D disc should go into the main profile, while the different audio information for the 2D disc should go into a child profile for the 2D disc.

Side Note (my opinion):
The 3D disc only uses 35 GB of the 45 GB a BD50 has, so in my opinion Warner Germany could (and should) have included the english Dolby TrueHD/ATMOS on the 3D disc. The original language track should always have the highest priority.

Hello corleone

Thanks for the competent and good answer you gave to me! Indeed very surpricing from Warner. Normally we get the German Audio Tracks only in Dolby Digital 5.1 while the English track is in DTS HD Master Audio 5.1. Here they reversed it, only on the 3D disc, a better track for German.

Other question: Why can't we enter the new Audio Formats into the database yet? I asked twice in requested features. We get things always when they are out already for a long time and must then correct all again. It would make life much easier when we would have those things when they start with the first disc coming out with them.

Same for the UHD discs. They will come end of the year, so shortly, and also here nothing is done yet. Please give us the new features at least when the first film is out with them so we can make the correct entries from the beginning, thanks.
