I'm updating my list on dvd profiler and each time I find a new bluray I send my contribution.
Unfortunately, the last part I sent, has been declined, but I can't understand why (see picture).
All bluray have been inserted in the same way of the others accepted, same sources (dvd-store.it, amazon.it, wikipedia.org, imdb).
Thanks a lot for an explanation.

What about "Use of a third party database is not allowed per the contribution rules." do you not understand?

Because many previous discs inserted in the same way and with the same note have been accepted.

Per the rules - and the copyright - you are not allowed to use third party databases like IMDB to create profiles, which are to be contributed to the online database. You have to view the film credits and write them down...

Neither you are allowed to use cover scans which you did not scan yourself (and there must not be a spine included per copyright laws).

What did you contribute? What was the description for your contribution?? Did you get votes on your contribution - which???

My contribition is that I've searched information in those sites and I've put them manually in the database. Like year of birth of cast members or director.
Other info are taken from the cover of the disc.

Not all birth years are accepted in the database, and that's probably why your contributions were declined.
It's better to leave the birth years empty, and only add them if you are sure you have two different entries in your database/collection.

Here's a list of all the birth year entries on the forum: http://www.luigifilocamo.it/BY.html

Birthyears are only allowed when there are multiple persons with the same name.

If the title has allready been released the only thing you can use from a third party are the release date and the SRP. Anything else you should take from the original disc or the back cover.

Taking data from third party database contradicts not only the rules but brings invalid data to the database! You won't make friends here doing so...

Two major issues with cast and crew are:

a) We use names "as credited" - this means, the name which is written in the credit block (including typos!) is to be entered as cast or crew name.
Exception: To get credits linked together you can use the CLT to determine which is the most often used variant of a person's name in our database and use that name for cast or crew credit list. In this case you have to insert the name variant from the film credits into the Credited As field!
Exception from the Exception: If the CLT can't be trusted (because there are different persons using the same name or because too many people inserted third party data ) common names can be determined by manually counting the titles which a person is credited for: therefore we have tons of common name threads, which are still to be tidied up - but you can use this list, which lists the recent common name threads, to get an overview...

b) We use birth years only if they are needed to differentiate between two persons with identical names in the database. Inserted birth years have to be documented with the contribution (including the need for them!).
To document the need for birth years this thread has established. Best practice is to document the need for a birth year there and link to the entry in this thread in the contribution notes. Especially Kluge's overview is a good tool to find most of the valid birth years...

Thanks a lot for explanations and help.
At the end is what I was already doing, except for the birth year.

So your question is not why these contributions were declined, but why the previous contributions were accepted?

c) We, not AiAustria, take the actor information from the "standard" end credits only. Anything else would be Uncredited.

You are forgetting about when actor information appears only in the opening credits of a film. They are credited then and do not qualify as uncredited.

bbbb is wrong. As long as they are credited, they get entered - where in the movie doesn't matter. Actors credited in opening credits only get entered before those in the end credits. If there are no credits, the film's official site may be used as a source, as long as the inclusion does not violate the site's published policy (if any).
