Is it true that "Fox" has determined that The Simpsons seasons 18 and forward would NOT BE RELEASED ON DVD? And from that season it would only be available by streamins?? What about other countries than USA, and we that have lousy internet and can't stream well? And me that are addicted to physical formats, and have collected all 17 seasons on DVD from 2001? Should my collection just stop there? Is there any petition going on to make them change? This is just bizarre..
F%¤#k FOX if this is the truth!

Well, Google seems to confirm your worries...

What I find specifically odd, is that they released Season 20 in 2010, now leaving this odd gap for collectors... Also, "not on DVD" seems to include Blu-ray.

Someone in our group mentioned this last February and posted a link to the announcement though I cannot find it now.  With the exception of season 20 which was released on DVD some time ago, there will be no more physical media for the Simpsons.  FOX felt that they were not making the return on investment for making the media and is switching to the digital media instead.  Also convenience was stated as another primary reason for the change.  The article also mentioned a few other FOX properties which it was going to only stream as well.  I personally think this is a mistake and I think when the Simpsons finally goes off the air and is only in rerun there will be enough interest to produce the rest.

Yes I hope so too. But what about other countries? I personally have a bad broadband connection, so streaming for me are no option. And we don't have any FOX channels in Norway either, so they should think of that also.
They could for instance leave out the audio-commentary, for me it's the episodes itself that's important, not the commentary. They should leave that out, and also have one cover, not the head-boxset which are more expencive.
