Is a Production Sound Recordist the same as a Production Sound Mixer?
And is it a valid credit?
Think different

Everything will be okay in the end. If it's not okay, it's not the end.

I'd say that it's the same as plain Sound Recordist, thus credited as Sound (provided there is no credit for production sound mixer).

How can it be the same? In the first combination of words is "Recordist", in the second it's "Mixer".

A quick Google search will tell you that they are different names for the same job.
No dictator, no invader can hold an imprisoned population by force of arms forever.
There is no greater power in the universe than the need for freedom.
Against this power, governments and tyrants and armies cannot stand.
The Centauri learned this lesson once.
We will teach it to them again.
Though it take a thousand years, we will be free.

A simple look in the contribution rules tells us, to credit the Sound Recordist as Sound if (and only if) no Production Sound Mixer credit is available. Therefore the Production Sound Recordist (what else Sound Recordist could you imagine but the Production Sound Recordist - somewhat redundant...) can be credited as Sound if (and only if) there is no Production Sound Mixer credited - what else?
Complete list of Common Names  •  A good point for starting with Headshots (and v11.1)
