| Posted: | | | | Here is a rather uncommon common name thread... It's all about Brian Taylor, part of the duo Neveldine&Taylor. Here we decided to list credits like Neveldine/Taylor or Neveldine&Taylor as if there were two lines of credits - one for each person. The problem, which still remains, is: What is the most credited form of the single persons - should we write: Mark Neveldine credited as "Neveldine/Taylor" Brian Taylor credited as "Neveldine/Taylor" Or is it as simple as: Neveldine credited as "Neveldine/Taylor" Taylor credited as "Neveldine/Taylor" The current CLT tells us that the full name Brian Taylor is much more often used than the short form of Taylor. But this might be wrong - at least a quick eye on the details leads us to Taylor as the most credited form, since they seem to be credited as duo most of the times ( Neveldine/Taylor, Neveldine / Taylor or Neveldine & Taylor)... Here we go: Brian Taylor (????): Cinematrographer, Producer, Writer; aka. Taylor Known for: Gamer, Jonah Hex, Crank part I and II, Pathology and Ghost Rider: Spirit of VengeanceDocumentation: Wikipedia, IMDB as Brian Taylor (V) Remark: Most of the time credited with his partner Mark Neveldine as Neveldine/Taylor or Neveldine&Taylor Brian Taylor (1)• The Midnight Meat Train - confirmed by GamemasterTaylor (6)• Crank - confirmed by Kluge• Crank 2: High Voltage - confirmed by Kluge• Gamer - confirmed by greyghost• Ghost Rider: Spirit of Vengeance - confirmed by CharlieM• Jonah Hex - confirmed by ateo357• Pathology - confirmed by AiAustriaUnconfirmed (1)• All Superheroes Must Die • Crank - confirmed by Kluge• Crank - confirmed by Kluge• Crank 2: High Voltage - confirmed by Kluge• Crank 2: High Voltage - confirmed by Kluge• Gamer• Gamer• Gamer• Gamer• Ghost Rider: Spirit of Vengeance - confirmed by CharlieM• Ghost Rider: Spirit of Vengeance - confirmed by CharlieM• Jonah Hex - confirmed by ateo357• Jonah Hex - confirmed by ateo357I've inserted the confirmations from this thread as a jump start into the above list... The following entries in the CLT are either invalid or belong to another [Brian] Taylor: • Fading of the Cries • It Follows• Designing Women: The Complete First Season • Dieppe • Lewis & Clark & George • Millennium: The Complete First Season: Disc 3 • Ordeal in the Arctic • Ink • The Ray Bradbury Theater • Within • Wrongfully Accused• Glam Rock: The DVD• Addressing the Nation • Manchester United: The Greatest Derby of All Time • Battle: Los Angeles • View from the TopThe common name thread for Mark Neveldine is due to follow. So, please confirm the full credits for both of them in this thread, to save the work for the second thread... | | | Complete list of Common Names • A good point for starting with Headshots (and v11.1) | | | Last edited: by AiAustria |

| Posted: | | | | This thread is quite conclusive. We'll have to list him as Taylor.
This opens up another issue: Taylor - the female given name - is a rather widely used porn name. There are 28 adult profiles for various Taylors in our database...
We need a BY for our Taylor - Brian Taylor! - Any ideas? | | | Complete list of Common Names • A good point for starting with Headshots (and v11.1) |

We have reached here the top of the ridicule. Everybody here knows that the name of this director is Brian Taylor (with no known variant). But trying to follow a stupid rule, we obtain a "common name" that is also the name of many other people with unknown BY, and this common name doesn't even match with what we have on screen (Neveldine/Taylor, Neveldine / Taylor or Neveldine & Taylor). | | | Images from movies |

No, the top will be reached someday in the near future, when the second common name thread flips to Mark Neveldine. Then we have to write for Neveldine&Taylor: - Mark Neveldine [Neveldine] - Taylor(19xx) I don't think this is the best solution, but it is a working vehicle, which is conform to the rules AND solves the linking issues. This is way more you can offer. Moaning is not enough... | | | Complete list of Common Names • A good point for starting with Headshots (and v11.1) |

There is no way to follow strictly rules and get a common name. This just proves that we should use common sense, and not common name stupidy. The problem is very simple : in real life, we have two guys, Brian Taylor and Mark Neveldine, who work together. What are their name ? Well, Brian Taylor and Mark Neveldine. But this seems impossible to understand in Invelos land, and people spend time to invent useless data... | | | Images from movies |

Yes the common sense said, that we should credit them in two lines - and I didn't even attend this voting. Did you read the thread before trying to destroy it? Quote: The problem is very simple : in real life, we have two guys, Brian Taylor and Mark Neveldine, who work together. Wrong, a second time. They work ed together. They split up while doing Jonah Hex - six years ago. | | | Complete list of Common Names • A good point for starting with Headshots (and v11.1) |

| Posted: | | | | Personally, in this particular case, I would prefer to list them in one entry, as Neveldine/Taylor, only using "credited as" only for the occasions where they're credited with additional spaces, or with the &-symbol instead of the slash. I realise that in doing so, any "solo" efforts of either of them won't link with their Neveldine/Taylor credits, but hey, so be it. As always, though, no matter what me or anyone else prefers, it'll be impossible to get everyone to agree on *any* method. It's just one of those things that won't get solved. |

| Posted: | | | | And we still need a BY for him - no matter what his common name is, he shares it either with a big bunch of porn actresses or with at least four guys named Brian Taylor AND included in our data base | | | Complete list of Common Names • A good point for starting with Headshots (and v11.1) |
