James Taylor singer or actor?

looking over my data and came across my Two-Lane Blacktop from 1971 and was looking at James Taylor .. dug out the dvd and watched the opening 30 minutes  looks like Taylor the singer  never knew he was in the movie business.. then found in the profiler data another james Taylor for voice under Star Wars ..

wiki and IMDB  are not going to help us  out on this..  so turned here ..

any ideas and how to sort out these names under cast ... ?

Hi,

There are tons of J. Taylors out there. I tried to unravel them, but failed in the end.

Three of them are already included in the common name threads thread...

But I don't fully understand your question. If you can give me a hint - or ask a more specific question - it may be, that I find something in my archives...

Two remarks:
a) there are at least two musicians calle James Taylor: James Taylor (I) aka. James Vernon Taylor and J. T. Taylor - the frontman of Cool & the Gang.
b) When I started the trial to unravel them, I assigned your profile to James Taylor (I) without doubt - although I don't know exactly why any more...

It is him in Two-Lane, but he was a singer first and like many singers of the era, venturerd into film. Unlike Kris Kristofferson and others, he did not stay in movies and went back to singing. I don't think he is the one for Star Wars though.

IMDB states, the Star Wars Voice Actor is another guy - James Taylor (II) - and I tend to believe that, since the (I) is very well documented in the IMDB and the list of work for the (II) is too long to be a simple mistake.

There is much more musical work out there, which I can't prove but suspect the (I) to be responsible for - the following profiles:
