I can't remember right now, do we create child profiles for the seasons? If so, by Disc ID of the first disc per season?

No UPC, no profile.

The DiscIDs are attached as child profiles directly to the master profile.

For examples see 5051892172356 (UK) or 024543212904 (US).

Karsten is correct. While writing the rules this is something we went over and over in multiple threads. And when it came time for a decision from Ken he decided to go even stricter then any of us was fighting for and went with no UPC then no profile.

Damned, I would have liked a representation of the individually packaged seasons with their specific covers in the complete series Box-Set.

You can do that. It's called a manual profile.

I do that all the time, for example one of the aforementioned box sets:

Oh yeah... you can do whatever you want locally with manual profiles. I considered doing that to go by packaging... but decided it would be to unsatisfying since I have no scanner to scan the packaging. So I just been doing as the rules are now.

Individually packaged season level profiles are useful, much more useful than disc level profiles. I'll contribute them.

For the no-votes: it's The Sopranos Complete Series Box Set, #5051890290915.

So you are going to purposely contribute against the rules.  Somehow I am not really that surprised.

Just because you think the season profiles are more useful then disc level don't mean everyone agrees. I personally see disc level MUCH more useful.

From the rules:
Quote:
Note: In cases where multiple complete TV seasons/series (each with distinct UPC/EAN) are packaged together, the Box-set rules are applied, treating each season/series like a single film - applying the above rules for its individual profile.

Base on that note, you can only create a season profile if it has a distinct UPC/EAN.
No dictator, no invader can hold an imprisoned population by force of arms forever.
There is no greater power in the universe than the need for freedom.
Against this power, governments and tyrants and armies cannot stand.
The Centauri learned this lesson once.
We will teach it to them again.
Though it take a thousand years, we will be free.

And it's a pain in the rear doing disc level contributions. I just submitted 4 seasons worth for Murdoch Mysteries (15 discs total). Sucks since I normally just do season profiles and don't download the discs.

And you seriously believe that he is going to contribute a profile.

This note, and the whole section, does not apply. The TV Series in question is not "on DVD" but on Blu-ray.
