| | Posted: | | | | I recently submitted the Denzel Washington movie Déjà Vu. It had a different cover and different UPC than the one that existed in the database. It had the UPC of 799867-442317, which it wouldn't let me use and kept telling me it was invalid. I had to add the profile using disk ID instead. Just for my own curiosity, why is this UPC invalid? |

| | Posted: | | | | I don't remember if it wouldn't let me use the UPC when I cloned an existing profile or if it let me use it and wouldn't let me submit the profile. Either way, it wouldn't let me submit the profile with that UPC and received a message saying the UPC is invalid, so it never got to the review stage to be declined. I had to change the profile ID to use the disk ID to get it contributed. |

| | Posted: | | | | Thanks for the clarification. Perhaps it's some oddity that was for rental purposes only or out of some DTS box set. I have found others on-line with the same bogus UPC as well, Tamara, Hard Candy, Bloodrayne, Bewitched. All have a 2005-2006 release date. Odd. Oh well, I did notice I need to do a bit of cleanup on this profile as well. Forgot to change the audio tracks from Dolby Digital to DTS...so I'll do that tonight. Thanks again. |

I would guess that they might be pirated with custom covers with the same UPC used. I haven't found a single distributor with a UPC starting with 799867 |

I haven't found a single distributor with a UPC starting with 799867 I do believe you're right. | | Posted: | | | | After some investigation, I think that's probably the most likely option. Thanks, for having a look. Either way, it is a commercially stamped DVD (So it won't degrade), and the DTS audio track is nice, so I'll keep it. |
